Verification and Password Resets

Wow, look, email feedback! Users can now go verify themselves., which means everyone has been marked as unverified. To verify yourself you'll see a new option in your account page (the cog in the top right) called "Verify". Click that, then click "Request New Code". That will send a code straight to your email! Simply put that code into the text box and click submit. Password resets work similarly, except it is accessible only from the login page (you will have to logout to access it).

Communications Emails

You might be reading this from your inbox :) We have mailing lists now! Unfortunately, until our traffic is sufficiently large, we are stuck only being able to use the "DoNotReply" sender. Someday this will go away, but we will have to live with it in the meantime.

The point of the communications email list is to provide general marketing and updates (like the one you're reading) directly to your inbox. You're free to unsubscribe at any time, of course. You will see multiple ways to do so in this email, as well as a new button on your account page.

This launch took longer than anticipated because I wanted to set up as much built-in compliance as possible into our emailing capability. I didn't want to get dinged by any of the major email providers as we grew. If we did get dinged it could inhibit any natural growth we might get, because if it happened in the middle of a subscription wave, I wouldn't have the time right now to drop everything and fix the system. Ceridwen is our quickest hope for growth and revenue as that application will be the primary user of the email system. So now I can focus on the content generation part of that application in the weeks to follow rather than worry about fixing any kind of distribution.
